Hyundai i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition Unveiled With Bronze Rims And Decals

Hyundai revealed a special edition of the i30 N called Drive-N with a limited production of 800 units. The hot hatch gets some special decals, full-spec equipment and bronze wheels but no power or chassis upgrades.

The i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition comes in the five-door hatchback bodystyle (you can’t get it in the Fastback) with subtle visual tweaks inspired by the aftermarket choices of the N community. The exterior can be painted in Phantom Black or Serenity White Pearl, always combined with 19-inch forged alloy wheels featuring a dark bronze matte finish.

Besides the fancy color combination, the Drive-N is distinguished by the red and bronze decals on the lower part of the body, and the special badges on the front fenders displaying the GPS coordinates of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife where all Hyundai N models are developed.

Inside the cabin we find a numbered plaque showing the limited nature of this special edition. There is also Alcantara upholstery with red stitching on the steering wheel, gearknob, armrest and handbrake, red seatbelts, red N buttons, exclusive floor mats, and a new pattern for the N Light Seats. Standard equipment includes a glass roof, the 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, the rear stiffness bar, and the Hyundai Smart Sense suite of ADAS.

As we mentioned earlier, there are no mechanical changes which means you get the same turbocharged 2.0-litre T-GDi engine producing 276 hp (206 kW / 280 PS) and 392 Nm (289 lb-ft) of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission which was introduced with the facelift in 2020. The hot hatch also gets the N Power Shift, N Grin Shift, and N Track Sense Shift features for optimum performance.

Hyundai has already started production of the i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition. Out of the 800 units, 620 are reserved for Europe out of which 75 are for the UK, and another 180 units will head to Australia where the hot hatch market is still booming. The company didn’t announce pricing for the special edition, but Hyundai Australia mentioned it will be priced slightly higher than the i30 N Premium.
