Lucid today announced its product plans for the European market. As with North American customers, those in Europe will first be offered the Lucid Air Dream Edition in both Range and Performance guises.
“The expansion into Europe and the decision to offer Lucid Air Dream Edition in this market serve to strengthen Lucid’s position as a global brand and further supports our mission to elevate the standards of the electric vehicle industry,” said Zak Edson, VP of Sales and Service, Lucid.
In its Euro-spec, the Lucid Air Dream Edition will offer a 0-100 km (62 mph) in 2.7 seconds and a manufacturer-estimated 900 km (559 miles) of driving range on the WLTP cycle. The Air also gets a 924 V electrical architecture for faster charging times.
As in North America, Europeans will only be offered a limited number of Dream Editions and these will start at €218,000 ($230,137 USD at current exchange rates) in Germany, €222,000 ($234,359 USD) in the Netherlands, CHF199,000 ($200,606 USD) in Switzerland, and NOK1,850,000 ($190,775 USD) in Norway.
First deliveries of the Lucid Air Dream Edition are expected to start in late 2022, the automaker said, and they will be followed by the Air Pure, the Air Touring, and the Air Grand Touring. Final pricing will be announced for them later, but Lucid did say that it expects to price the Air Pure at around €100,000 ($105,567 USD) in Germany and the Netherlands, around CHF100,000 ($100,807 USD) in Switzerland, and around NOK 1,000,000 ($103,121 USD) in Norway.
In addition, Lucid announced today that it plans to open its first European retail location in Munich, Germany. The first European Lucid Studio will be opened at Odeonsplatz on May 13, 2022, and the space will invite customers to experience the brand in the old town area. The automaker will then open more studio spaces in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland this year. It plans to expand into other key markets in Europe in the coming years.
Despite only opening studio spaces in those countries, Lucid says it will accept reservations from customers in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the U.K. They are invited to place a fully refundable €300 reservation to secure their place in line for the Air. Lucid also confirmed that it is planning a right-hand-drive model for the U.K.
