This Ferrari 488 Pista Spider Is Inspired By Stirling Moss’s 250 GTO

The Ferrari 488 Pista Spider is one of the automaker’s finest-ever supercars and while each example is special, this unit is especially desirable.

This 488 Pista Spider has gone through the full gambit of Ferrari’s Tailor Made program, featuring a specification inspired by the Ferrari 250 GTO that was built for the late Sir Stirling Moss. That 250 GTO is chassis number 3505GT and competed in the 1962 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was sold at auction in 2012 for $35 million, becoming the most expensive car ever sold at auction.

Like Moss’s 250 GTO, this 488 Pista Spider is finished in a unique shade of mint green dubbed Verde Pallido and is unlike any other we’ve seen from Ferrari. In addition to the unique paint scheme, the supercar is rocking number 15 motifs on the doors and the hood, as Moss’s car had.

Elsewhere, this striking 488 sits on a set of silver, stake-spoke wheels above red brake calipers. Various parts of the car are also finished in exposed carbon fiber, including the front splitter, side skirts, side air intakes, and rear diffuser.

The interior of the car is also very striking. Making it stand out are red seats clad in Alcantara. There is also a small Tailor Made badge between the seats, various elements bathed in carbon fiber, and side sills made from carbon fiber with a Tailor Made logo and text reading “Inspired by 250 GTO made for Stirling Moss.”

It’s unclear how much the owner of this 488 Pista Spider paid for the car but it obviously wouldn’t have been cheap.
