Spofec’s Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge Combines Stealthy Sportiness With 696 HP

The new Ghost Black Badge is probably the sportiest Rolls-Royce money can buy, but there is always room for improvement. Novitec’s Spofec unveiled a tuning kit for the luxury sedan, including visual and chassis upgrades alongside a power boost for the V12.

Starting with the performance upgrades, Rolls-Royce’s twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 produces 696 hp (519 kW / 706 PS) and a monstrous 1,002 Nm (739 lb-ft) of torque thanks to the addition of  Spofec’s N-Tronic module. This represents an increase of 105 hp (78 kW / 106 PS) and 102 Nm (75 lb-ft) over the stock Black Badge, and 20 hp (15 kW / 21 PS) more powerful compared to the Spofec-tuned regular Ghost. Thanks to the upgrades, the tuned Ghost Black Badge accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.3 seconds, with the top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

The Ghost is a pretty handsome vehicle so the tuner didn’t go too far in the styling department. The carbon-fiber body kit includes a redesigned bumper with sportier intakes and optional integrated LEDs. There is also a pair of side sill extensions – available for both the regular and the long-wheelbase bodystyle variants – a prominent lip spoiler and a rear facia with or without visible exhaust pipes. In any case, there is a stainless sport exhaust system with actively controlled butterfly valves for Rolls-Royce owners who prefer not to go unnoticed.

The most striking element is the new 22-inch forged wheels by Vossen. In the pictured vehicle they are painted in Black, matching the dark trim of the Black Badge, but Spofec is offering a choice between 72 different colors. The wheels are shod in mixed tires measuring 265/35R22 at the front and 295/30R22 at the back. Finally, the Spofec Can-Tronic module for the standard air suspension brings the Ghost closer to the ground by 40 mm (1.6 inches), automatically reverting back to the stock height at speeds over 140 km/h (87 mph). Finally, there are many options for the interior, if the owner is not satisfied with Rolls-Royce’s unmistakable fit and finish.

We don’t know the cost for the upgrades but Rolls-Royce owners who visit a tuner like Spofec have deep pockets. Would you choose a sportier stance for your Ghost if you owned one?
