Skoda Yeti Minivan With 485 HP Audi RS3 Engine Swap Is The Definition Of A Sleeper

The Skoda Yeti, sold between 2009 and 2017, is not the first model that comes to mind when you think about performance. This specific example however can leave modern sportscars to the dust thanks to its tuned powertrain coming from the Audi RS 3 Sportback and more specifically from the 8P generation that debuted in 2010.

Under the skin, this humble Skoda comes with an engine, gearbox, brakes, and lowered suspension transplanted from the mighty Audi hyper hatch. A used turbocharged 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine with 40,000 miles (64,374 km) on the clock has been tuned both in terms of hardware and software and delivers 485 hp (362 kW / 492 PS) on the dyno, which is significantly more than the stock 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS). Power is transmitted to all four wheels through a remapped DSG dual-clutch transmission with the owner claiming his Yeti is “moving Skylines out of the way for fun”.

Based on a facelifted Yeti from 2015, the exterior has very little hints of what is hiding underneath, setting aside the Audi S3 alloy wheels, the obviously lowered suspension, and the dual oval tailpipes sticking out from the back. The body is painted in Range Rover’s Carpathion Grey shade for a true sleeper look. The subtle bodykit includes a black painted splitter, grille, side skirts, a Monte Carlo rear bumper, and a rather tacky rear spoiler, Finally, the roof rails and the Skoda badges have been removed.

Inside, the leather sports seats are sourced from the Audi S3, while the flat-bottom steering wheel, the instrument cluster, the gear knob, and the pedal box come from the RS3. The center console has been removed, with an ill-fitting previous generation Audi MMI infotainment module sitting above the climate controls. Finally, there is custom suede roof lining, some pillar-mounted gauges, and a “flocked dashboard” effect.

The uniquely modified Yeti is currently listed for sale on eBay, with an asking price of £25,995 ($34,315). This may sound too much for a budget SUV from the previous decade, but this Yeti is far from stock. The owner claims he spent three years and a lot of money on the build saying he won’t be accepting any silly offers since he is not desperate to sell.
