How do you improve upon near perfection? That’s the question the folks over at Novitec asked themselves with regard to how they would modify the already quite mighty Lamborghini Huracan STO. The answer they came away with is far more reserved and subtle than that of other tuners in the space but it left room for a louder roar and more extreme styling.
No major modifications to the engine, programming, or driveline, in general, were made, but that hasn’t stopped us from drooling over this unique bull.
Two specific modifications improve both the sound and the look of the STO. Novitec incorporates sports springs on each of the four corners to lower the vehicle which, in turn, improves both aerodynamics and cornering ability. We think the aggressive stance is attractive too. Height-adjustable NOVITEC sport springs are alternatively available for the MAGNETO stock suspension, which allow lowering the ride height of the STO by up to 30 millimeters. The tuner says that despite being closer to the ground the one-piece cofango will still rotate all the way forward without issue.
Additionally, a Novitec muffler system with a remote control flap is installed to improve flow and to create a sound that’s unique to these custom supercars. No power numbers are reported but the stock STO makes 630 hp (470 kW) and 416 lb-ft (643 Nm) of torque. Interestingly enough, the exhaust can only be put into quiet mode once the car is moving so don’t expect any subtle startups.
The majority of the changes to the Huracan STO come in the form of trim and aerodynamics. All of the surfaces that are commonly matte black have been replaced with either gloss black or carbon fiber components. The upper and lower intake ports each feature a more extreme shape with larger inlets finished in carbon fiber.
Additionally, the tailpipes are carbon fiber as is the front splitter so from nose to tail, this Huracan will stand out even in a crowd of other STOs.The final touch comes with the staggered 20- and 21-inch rims shod in tires size 245/30 ZR 20 on the front and 325/25 ZR 21 at the rear axle.
In this particular configuration, with black paint, it’s one of the most subtle demonstrations of tuner restraint we’ve seen.
As of this writing, Novitec hasn’t released specific pricing for the STO package or which options will be ala cart add-ons.
