BMW M3 Touring Teased Again Ahead Of Possible Debut This Summer

BMW‘s M division is a fan of torturing tires but now we know it’s also a fan of torturing metaphors thanks to its latest animal-themed teaser. The “ICONIC PACK” is the latest video from the brand teasing the upcoming M3 Touring.

The model is shown off at the end of the video (skip to the 2:15 mark if you’re impatient) wearing familiar camouflage and sporting the motto “Bring it on” on its side.

This being just a teaser, there’s not much information to be gleaned directly from the commercial, which is a play on an Animal Planet documentary, apart from the fact that it combines skills learned from other M vehicles “as never seen before.” But we may learn everything there is to know about the M3 Touring before too long.

Unnamed sources told BMW Blog that the M3 Touring would debut in the early summer. Spy shots have suggested that the M3 Touring, together with the rest of the upcoming facelifted 3-Series and 4-Series models,  will feature the fancy new infotainment system as seen in the all-electric i4. That means bigger screens across more of the car’s dashboard than the current M3 sedan.

The M3 Competition is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six that pumps out 503 hp (375 kW/510 PS) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque, which is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Previous reports suggested that the new M3 Touring will be offered exclusively in this powertrain configuration, crashing the dreams of fans that hoped to see a manual transmission option.
